We are happy to announce our third rare bird sighting in Georgia since June 2014. Our Georgia Rare Bird Alert came on the last day of the Great Backyard Bird Count, February 16th, when we photographed the Vesper Sparrow and submitted a report to eBird.
Our three Georgia rare bird sightings are located in three different counties. Our first rare bird sighting was the Black-Bellied Whistling Duck in Vidalia (Toombs County). The second sighting was Ross's Goose in Dublin (Laurens County). Our third sighting was the Vesper Sparrow in Mount Vernon (Montgomery County).
