Our main bird feeding tree, the purplish-pink, Eastern Redbud (the harbinger of Spring), was broken off at the roots during last night's strong thunderstorm. This is the tree where we have photographed many of our backyard birds. It is the tree where they perched, ready to hop on the standing feeder for their unsalted peanuts and black oil sunflower. It's also the same tree where we placed our hanging bird feeders and painted on the Peanut Butter Tree Spread, a favorite of the woodpeckers, warblers and bluebirds.
Here's the amazing miracle of God.....
The standing feeders and birdbaths that you see in the photos were still left standing. The standing feeder on the right has a piece of old barn wood sitting on top of the stand that is NOT nailed down, and it was not blown off, but a tree was broken off at the root. Amazing!

A beautiful reminder of the Eastern Redbud tree and one of its regular visitors, the entertaining Downy Woodpecker. This is Peppy!
We'll miss photographing our sweet birds perched on the colorful Eastern Redbud tree, such as our female Northern Cardinal, the Duchess of Soperton.
