Leonardo, the Eastern Bluebird, is keeping watch on his new home!

In one of our February 2015 articles, we featured Eastern Bluebird Courtship, discussing how the male Eastern Bluebird attracts the female to begin the mating process and subsequent nesting duties. A few weeks later, Leonardo is continually coming to his new home to check on things. We think this is the beginning of a beautiful love story.
From The Cornell Lab of Ornithology:
The male Eastern Bluebird displays at his nest cavity to attract a female. He brings nest material to the hole, goes in and out, and waves his wings while perched above it. That is pretty much his contribution to nest building; only the female Eastern Bluebird builds the nest and incubates the eggs.
